Captain Cody Vaughn began his fire service journey in 2011 as a Junior Firefighter, quickly developing a passion for serving his community. By 2013, he had earned his full firefighter certification and officially began his career in the fire service. In 2016, Cody transitioned into a full-time paid firefighter role, where he continued to build his skills and experience on the front lines.
Two years ago, Cody was appointed as Fire Marshal, a position in which he has taken on greater responsibility for fire prevention, investigation, and public safety. He has enhanced his expertise through certification courses with the Alabama Fire College, ensuring that he brings both knowledge and dedication to the role.
Outside of the fire service, Cody enjoys spending quality time with his two children, as well as fishing, hunting, and detailing vehicles. His commitment to family, community, and the fire service continues to guide him in his role as Fire Marshal.
Captain - Operations
Captain Bailey Horne began his fire service career in 2010 as a Junior Firefighter, where his dedication and passion for helping others quickly became evident. In 2015, he became fully certified as a firefighter and just two years later, in 2017, he advanced into a full-time firefighting role.
Throughout his career, Capt. Horne has developed extensive expertise in vehicle extrication, attending multiple advanced extrication schools and becoming highly knowledgeable in this critical skill set. His training and leadership make him a valuable asset to his department and community.
Outside of the fire service, Capt. Horne enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. His commitment to both his profession and personal life reflects the balance and dedication he carries into everything he does.
Lieutenant / Training Officer
Lieutenant Austin Kisner is a proud third-generation firefighter, carrying on a strong family tradition of service. He began his journey in the fire service in 2011 as a fire explorer, gaining early exposure and hands-on experience. In 2016, he further demonstrated his commitment to public safety by working as a lifeguard before officially becoming a certified firefighter in 2019.
With over nine and a half years of fire service experience, Training Officer Kisner has developed a strong foundation of knowledge and leadership. His dedication to training and preparing others ensures that his department is always ready to meet any challenge.
Outside the firehouse, Austin enjoys fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending quality time with his family and his dog, Nola.
